Does PlanPass AI guarantee permit approval?
No. PlanPass provides a pre-compliance analysis and probability estimate based on your plans and jurisdiction. Final approval is always made by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
What project types are supported?
We are focusing first on ADUs, additions, garage conversions, tenant improvements and small multifamily residential projects. Commercial and larger buildings will be added as the system expands.
Which codes and standards does PlanPass check?
IBC 2021/2024, CRC (California Residential Code), basic structural spans, egress & life-safety, accessibility triggers, zoning standards, and local amendments for major US cities. Additional code sets roll out monthly.
What kind of issues can PlanPass AI flag?
Common code conflicts such as inadequate egress windows, setback violations, stair geometry issues, life-safety deficiencies, zoning conflicts, prescriptive span limits, and frequently redlined ADU requirements.
Will cities see my reports?
No — during the pilot, reports are private to your firm. Future city integrations will be opt-in and designed collaboratively with participating firms.
How accurate is the pass-probability score?
It's an estimate based on code logic, known patterns, and similar project outcomes. It is meant to guide your expectations, not guarantee approval. Accuracy improves as more data flows through the system.
How much does it cost?
During the beta, access is free for selected firms in exchange for structured feedback and early workflow data. Pricing will be announced closer to general availability.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Plans are stored securely, never shared with any jurisdiction, and can be deleted at any time. A detailed data privacy policy will be published before public launch.
